Caterham Seven устанавливает рекорд скорости
Британский Caterham Seven R500 установил рекорд скорости для серийных автомобилей на отрезке от нуля до 160 км/ч.
Раньше рекорд равнялся 10,73 секунды. Теперь он стал меньше почти на четыре секунды - 6,92 секунды. До скорости в 50 км/ч Caterham Seven R500 разогнался за полторы секунды, до 100 км/ч - 3,21 секунды. Остается добавить, что данную модель, учитывая перегрузки, которые испытывает водитель, смело можно рекомендовать для подготовки космонавтов.
Добавим, что соперничать с Caterham Seven R500 может только мотоцикл Suzuki GSX-R1000, который до отметки в 100 миль/час разгоняется за 5 секунд после старта.
В испытании, проводимом изданием Autocar Magazine, участвовало 47 автомобилей, включая таких монстров как Porsche Turbo, BMW CSL, Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari Enzo, Mercedes McLaren SLR и Porsche Carrera GT.
